Welcome to UnionBillsPay, an all-in-one utility payment app that lets users seamlessly pay bills, buy airtime and manage their finances in one place.
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the UnionBillsPay website, mobile application and related financial services (collectively, the “Platform”).
By creating an account, accessing or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform immediately.
1. DEFINITIONS
For clarity, the following terms apply throughout:
“User,” “you,” or “your” refers to any individual or entity who uses our Platform.
“Wallet” means your digital account on UnionBillsPay that allows you to hold, send and receive assets.
“Assets” means digital currency supported on UnionBillsPay.
“Services” means all products and features provided through UnionBillsPay, including but not limited to:
- Airtime and data purchases
- Bill payments (electricity, betting, cable TV, gift cards, etc)
- Wallet funding and transfers
2. ELIGIBILITY
To use UnionBillsPay, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
- Comply with all applicable Nigerian laws including Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) regulations.
We reserve the right to refuse or suspend access to any user who does not meet these eligibility requirements.
3. ACCOUNT REGISTRATION
- You must create an account to access our services.
- You agree to provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information during registration.
- You are solely responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and all activity under your account.
UnionBillsPay will not be liable for any loss resulting from unauthorized use of your account.
Please notify us immediately at help@unionbillspay.com.ng if you suspect unauthorized access or suspicious activity.
4. WALLET AND FUNDS
Your UnionBillsPay wallet supports fiat (Naira).
You can fund your wallet using available payment channels.
All transactions are subject to applicable fees which are displayed before confirmation.
UnionBillsPay reserves the right to delay, reverse or cancel any transaction if fraud, suspicious activity or regulatory breach is detected.
5. BILL PAYMENTS, AIRTIME, AND DATA PURCHASES
Users can pay bills and purchase airtime or data through the UnionBillsPay app.
By initiating a transaction, you authorize UnionBillsPay to process payments to the respective service provider.
Successful transactions are typically processed instantly but may experience delays due to network or third-party issues.
Once confirmed, transactions cannot be reversed.
In the event of a failed transaction, please contact help@unionbillspay.com.ng with your transaction details for resolution.
6. FEES AND CHARGES
All applicable fees, commissions and exchange rates will be displayed before you confirm a transaction.
By completing a transaction, you agree to the displayed charges.
UnionBillsPay reserves the right to update its fees at any time, with such changes reflected on the Platform.
7. PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES
You agree not to use UnionBillsPay for any unlawful, abusive or fraudulent purposes including but not limited to:
- Money laundering or terrorism financing.
- Buying or selling illegal goods or services.
- Fraudulent chargebacks or impersonation.
- Exploiting technical vulnerabilities or hacking attempts.
- Circumventing identity verification processes.
Violation of this section may lead to account suspension or permanent termination and we may report such activities to the relevant authorities.
8. KYC AND COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS
To comply with Nigerian financial regulations:
You may be required to complete Know Your Customer (KYC) verification by submitting valid identification and other supporting documents.
UnionBillsPay reserves the right to withhold or limit access to services until KYC verification is completed.
We may share KYC data with regulators or law enforcement agencies in compliance with the law.
9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law:
UnionBillsPay shall not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages including loss of funds, profits or data.
UnionBillsPay shall not be held responsible for delays, failures or losses arising from:
- Blockchain or network outages
- Third-party service providers
In all cases, UnionBillsPay maximum liability to any user shall not exceed the total fees paid for the specific transaction in question.
10. ACCOUNT SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION
UnionBillsPay reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that:
- Breaches these Terms
- Engages in suspicious, illegal or fraudulent activity.
- Is required to be suspended by law enforcement or regulatory authorities.
Upon termination, any remaining wallet balance will be refunded in compliance with Nigerian laws and UnionBillsPay’s internal policies.
11. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
All content on the UnionBillsPay Platform including logos, trademarks, graphics, software and text is the exclusive property of UnionBillsPay.
Users may not copy, reproduce, distribute or exploit any part of the Platform without prior written consent from UnionBillsPay.
12. PRIVACY POLICY
Your privacy is important to us.

13. MODIFICATION OF TERMS
UnionBillsPay may update or modify these Terms periodically.
Updated Terms will be posted on our website and your continued use of the Platform after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall first be resolved amicably.
If unresolved, disputes shall be referred to arbitration in Lagos, Nigeria in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act and the arbitral award shall be final and binding.
